Coal Grind

As the coal stocks grind lower, I really don’t have much to say other than ‘wait’.

Coal spot prices, which are uneconomic, are going nowhere fast.  EIA

“China’s 3.52 billion metric tons of output last year was almost half of the global total 7.695 billion tons, and 3.5 times that of the next biggest coal producer, the U.S., according to the BP Statistics Review of World Energy…”  WSJ.

Westward Ho!  – Head ‘Um up and Move that Coal out to Asia at RBN Energy is a nice coal export overview.  Think CLD in the years ahead.

Consol suspending met coal operations on weaker global steel demand at Platts.

Consol and Cloud management speak at Barclay’s conference Thursday.  We’ll see if they have anything interesting to say.
