Fuel switching from depressed natural gas prices has coal inventories high. [EIA](http://205.254.135.7/todayinenergy/detail.cfm?id=6490) Meanwhile, the beaten down coal stocks have held up in today’s shellacking. [24/7 Wall Street](http://247wallst.com/2012/06/01/coal-stocks-the-new-solar-sector-or-a-value-choice-btu-cnx-wlt-anr-aci-jrcc-pcx-cld-kol/) In this commodity super-cycle, every time Chinese imports have exploded for a particular material, the pricing deck was revalued higher. Is thermal coal next? [Bloomberg](http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-04-23/china-to-boost-coal-imports-on-wider-price-gap-chart-of-the-day.html)

Eighty dollar oil will slow U.S. drilling, but minor effects in supply would not be seen until year end. Just saying.

Rig count charts per [Haynesville Play](http://www.haynesvilleplay.com/2012/06/us-rig-count-3-to-1980.html).

The second chart down in is the **game changer**: [EIA](http://www.eia.gov/oog/info/twip/twiparch/120314/twipprint.html) Having an ‘Oil Crunch’ [Peak Oil Task Force](http://peakoiltaskforce.net/download-the-report/2010-peak-oil-report/)seems quaint. North American Energy independence will be here by the middle of this decade:
